Our Classes and Fees

We are very flexible and have a range of Group and Private classes on offer for adults and children, from the age of 3. We encourage you to get in touch with requests also, we may be able to start a new class with interest!

Saturdays during term time, New term starting 26th April 2025

Dates: Autumn term begins 26th April 2025 and runs every Saturday until 12th July 2025.
Autumn Half Term: There are NO class on 31st May , due to half term.

NB The age ranges given below are a guide as we carefully consider the grouping of our learners according to their age and language background and level.

Mandarin Early Years: Approximately 3-5 years

Children in this class have or are developing a grasp of numbers 1-10, might be learning to write their own name, but cannot yet read enough to be able to complete a worksheet.

The focus is about developing an awareness of the world around us and of languages, and on learning to sit and listen, take turns and play games. We use toys, video clips, songs, maps and globes and crafting activities.

Time: 11:10am – 12:10pm

Price: £135 per term

Mandarin YCT Foundation: Approximately 6-8 years

Children in this class know how to count, write their own name, and can read simple instructions.

The focus is on learning words and phrases by heart through song and games. The children learn to complete more structured tasks such as worksheets or simple listening exercises.

Mandarin YCT book 1: Approximately 7-9 years

For this class, we follow the Youth Chinese Test curriculum but use our own resources which are tailor-made to match the ability and dynamics of the group.

Children begin to learn how to write Chinese characters and simple homework is given. An informal reading and listening assessment is performed at the end of the course. We still use songs, games and role play where appropriate.

Mandarin YCT book 2: Approximately 9-11 years

For children who have completed the YCT 1 course and wish to continue with their Chinese Mandarin.

Time: 9:00am – 10:00am

Adult Beginner Classes (HSK 1)

This module is designed for English-speaking adults who are complete beginners with little or no knowledge of Chinese language.
